Elite NZO Tour Individual Competition
3 rounds - 10 races. Either Round 1 [Canterbury Champs] or Round 2 [North Island Champs] will count towards the overall NZO Tour Champ with the final 4 races at the National Champs to count [Sprint, Middle, Long and Night].
The point system is based on the competitor's time divided by the winner's time multiplied by 15.
* Due to the weather influencing the elite fields for both the Sprint and Night Champs, the final round has been changed to the best 3 of 4.
Elite NZO Tour Teams Competition
There will be a regional competition in Round 3, based on the times of the top 3 athletes from both genders from each region in each race.
Regions
The regions for this purpose will be the Northern North Island (Northern Knights), the Southern North Island (Central Scorchers), and the South Island
(Southerly Storm).
Eligibility
All members of NZ clubs are automatically eligible. Non-members including visiting orienteers from other countries aren’t eligible.
A Junior Elite Series is run based on the Mens and Womens 20 classes.
A Youth Elite Series is run based on the Mens and Womens 18 classes.
