Elite Men
The winner of the inaugural Mens NZ Elite O Tour goes to Nick Hann of the Wellington Orienteering Club with 88.29 points. Nick had only one race win over the series winning the Middle Distance at Woodend Beach in the Canterbury Champs. Four second places and a fourth over the rest of the tour was enough to get him home just ahead of Tim.
2nd place goes to Tim Robertson of Orienteering Hutt Valley with 88.12 points. Tim had an excellent Nationals, winning the Sprint and Middle with a third in the Long. He also won the Sprint in the Canterbury Champs but a poor run in the middle and a decision to the JWOC trial at TONIC ultimately lost him the tour title.
3rd place was won by Chris Forne of Peninsula and Plains with 87.52 points. Chris was disadvantaged by the weather at Nationals weekend missing the sprint. But a win in the Long and Night events put him above Gene. He controlled the Sprint at Rangiora for the Canterbury Champs and won the Long Distance at Flock Hill.

The winner of the Youth Elite Womens grade of the 2014 Elite NZO Tour is Kate Salmon from the North-West club with 78.27 points. Kate won the Middle and the Night events at the Nationals and was consistently mid-field in the tough JWOC trials at TONIC.

Catherine Andrew of Auckland Orienteering Club was third with 59.12 points. The lower points is reflective of the tough test these juniors put themselves through in running up a grade in the JWOC trials.
